Cranberry, Apple and Raisin Chutney
Chutney can be the apple of your eye. The cranberry-raisin-apple combo will likely become a family favorite. Kids and adults alike are sure to grow sweet on this healthy staple.

- 1 cup(s) raisins
- 16 floz water
- 1/3 cup(s) brown sugar
- 14 3/4 mL sherry
- 1/2 mL apple, chopped
- 1/4 cup(s) lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon(s) ginger, minced
- 3 cup(s) cranberries
- 1/2 cup(s) chopped walnuts
Directions
- Bring water to a boil in a heavy large saucepan.
- Add raisins. Remove from the heat and let stand for 15 minutes.
- Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of water.
- Pour reserved water back into the saucepan and add sugar, sherry and apples. Stir and increase heat to a boil.
- Cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice, and ginger.
- Add cranberries and cook until they begin to pop, about 8 minutes.
- Stir in raisins and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight before serving.
- Stir in walnuts just before serving.
