3/4 cup(s) pure cane sugar
1vanilla bean, split lengthwise and seeds scraped out
1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon stick
1/8 teaspoon(s) lemon zest
2 cup(s) mixed berries
2lemon wedges
Directions
In a medium saucepan, bring 1 1/4 cups of water to a boil. Add the sugar and stir until it dissolves into the water.
Add cinnamon, vanilla beans with seeds and a few grinds of lemon zest. Simmer for about 5 mins.
Gently place berries into the saucepan and let them simmer for about a minute. Remove from heat, cover and allow berries to cool inside the pot. Squeeze fresh lemon onto the berries once cooled.
