Chicken and White Beans

When it comes to eating healthy, chicken is often the go-to staple when it comes to lean protein. This slow-cooked stew combines poultry and white beans. It will definitely bowl you over. 

Chicken and White Beans

  • 7 1/2 cup(s) canned navy beans
  • 1 cooking spray
  • 8 ounce(s) chicken, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) cumin
  • 1/4 cup(s) maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon(s) stone ground mustard
  • 1/4 cup(s) honey

Directions

    1. Over medium heat, spray a Dutch oven with cooking spray.
    2. Stir in the chicken, onion, garlic, thyme, and cumin and cook for 2 minutes.
    3. Stir in the beans and cover them.
    4. Stir in the honey, syrup, sugar and mustard.
    5. Bring mixture to a boil.
    6. Lower the heat to low, stir the beans and cover.
    7. Cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.
    8. Serve warm.
