Heart Healthy Classic Caesar Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled, minced
  • 1 teaspoon(s) kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup(s) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 head romain lettuce
  • 1 juice of lemon
  • 1 teaspoon(s) soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon(s) apple cider vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) hot pepper sauce
  • 1/10 teaspoon(s) ground cloves
  • 4 ounce(s) broken bagel chips
  • 1/2 cup(s) shredded Parmigiano- Reggiano cheese
  • 1 dash(es) black pepper, to taste

Directions

    1. In a small bowl, add the garlic and salt and mash together using a wooden spoon.
    2. Pour in the oil, mixing constantly with a fork until well combined.
    3. In a large bowl, add the romaine leaves, drizzle with garlic-oil mixture, and toss to coat.
    4. Sprinkle the lemon juice over the salad and toss again.
    5. Add soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, hot pepper sauce and a ground cloves, cheese, pepper and broken bagel chips.
    6. Toss again and serve immediately.
